Monaco are holding talks with representatives of Manchester United winger Nani, but the Portuguese’s wage demands are causing some pause for thought at the Stade Louis II.

Nani is out of contract at Old Trafford next summer and has been consistently linked with an exit from the Red Devils, despite former manager Sir Alex Ferguson vowing not to sell the Sporting Lisbon youth product.

Monaco have not been afraid to splash the cash this summer, bringing in James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho from FC Porto, Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid, Ricardo Carvalho from Real Madrid, Jeremy Toulalan from Malaga and hoovering up Eric Abidal following his release by Barcelona.

Now, according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Monaco are talking to Nani’s representatives, led by the player’s brother.
