Arsenal winger Theo Walcott believes that his side can carry their fine pre-season form into the start of the upcoming campaign.

The Gunners have been performed well on their summer tour and already have three wins under their belt, defeating the likes of an Indonesian Dream Team, Vietnam and Nagoya Grampus.

The London outfit have pumped in 17 goals in the three matches against their opponents from Asia.

Arsenal were undefeated in 11 games during the tail end of last season and Walcott feels it would be good to take that form forward ahead of their opening match against Aston Villa on 17th August.

He explained to his club’s official site: “We know what we need to do this season. Everyone knows their jobs.

“I think we can just take the positives out of the last 11 games of the season when we were undefeated. If we take that form into the start of the new season, we’ll be in good stead.

“Everyone is at the top of their game at the moment. Everyone’s very fit and come the start of the season, we’ll be flying and hopefully I will be a part of that.”

The 24-year-old also heaped praise on his team-mate Ryo Miyaichi, who scored his first goal for Arsenal on Monday against Japanese club Nagoya Grampus.

“He’s still very young but it was great that he got his goal. He took it very well, it didn’t phase [sic] him at all."

Walcott has a further three years left on his current contract with Arsenal.
