Manchester United and England midfielder Michael Carrick is set to sit out his country’s upcoming friendly matches against Chile and Germany due to an Achilles problem, according to the BBC.
The midfielder, who has been struggling with the injury, limped off the pitch after the Red Devils’ 1-0 triumph over Arsenal in a Premier League game at Old Trafford.
And Carrick admitted that the injury does not look “too good.”
"I was a bit patched up to play", he was quoted as saying.

"I have been carrying the injury for a few weeks. I got through it but it doesn't look too good."
Carrick’s Manchester United team-mate Danny Welbeck, who is suffering from a knee problem, is also a doubt for England’s upcoming friendly matches.
The striker has not played for the English champions since making a substitute appearance in their 1-1 draw against Southampton on 19th October.
England will play Chile on 15th November before taking on Germany four days later, both at Wembley Stadium.
