Tottenham Hotspur have lodged an enquiry with Sporting Lisbon over winger Diego Capel as the January transfer window edges closer.
Capel was the subject of much interest from a number of clubs over the summer, with Liverpool and Marseille both regularly linked with making a bid for the Spaniard.
But Sporting Lisbon kept hold of the winger, who has so far made seven appearances in the Portuguese top flight, while he also found the back of the net on Saturday during his side's extra-time cup defeat to fierce rivals Benfica.
Glances have not stopped being thrown in the 25-year-old's direction however and, according to Tutto Mercato, Tottenham are the latest side to take an interest.

Spurs have struggled to score goals so far this season, just nine in eleven Premier League games so far, and are aiming to bolster their squad in January.
Indeed, the English side have lodged an enquiry with Sporting to learn whether Capel will be available in the new year.
Capel is under contract in the Portuguese capital until 2016.
