Zlatan Ibrahimovic has every right to win this year's FIFA Ballon d'Or, Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva believes.

The Sweden international has been in superb form for the French champions throughout 2013, but faces tough opposition for the accolade from Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery, amongst others.

Silva accepts that Ibrahimovic will have a tough task clinching the famous award, but feels it would be completely fair if he did.

"As a football fan I rate Ibrahimovic very highly", the Brazilian told Sky Italia.

"I'm sure he's going to be in the top three for the Ballon d'Or.

"It will be difficult to win it, but he has the right to, his performances are better than those of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi."

Ibrahimovic scored 35 goals for PSG last season as the Parisiens won the Ligue 1 title.

So far this season the powerful 32-year-old has notched five goals in Ligue 1 and seven in the Champions League, showing no signs of slowing down at the Parc des Princes.
