Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas will miss Spain’s upcoming friendly matches against Equatorial Guinea and South Africa due to a knee injury.
The 26-year-old picked up the injury in the Spanish champions’ 4-1 win over Real Betis on Sunday and had to be substituted in the 80th minute of the match after bagging a brace in the contest.
And scans revealed that Fabregas has sprained ligaments in his right knee which will keep him out of action for a week.
As a result, the attacking midfielder will sit out of his nation’s friendly games against Equatorial Guinea and South Africa on 16th and 19th November respectively.
