Rangers legend David Weir has revealed that he is keen to be involved in football on a full-time basis again.

The former defender began his managerial career by taking charge of League One side Sheffield United in the summer.

But Weir’s time at Bramall Lane was short-lived as the Blades sacked him after just ten league games.

However, the 43-year-old is undeterred by the bitter experience as he aims to become a football boss again.

“I definitely want to get back involved in football on a full-time basis. It’s what I do and it’s what I’ve done for a long time”, he told Rangers’ official site.

“I want to be coaching and involved again. I was ready for management but circumstances changed. It was difficult as all jobs are and it never worked out the way I would have liked."

Weir further added that he felt he was not given a fair chance to succeed at Sheffield United as ten games are not enough to instil a manager's ideas into his charges.

“I don’t think 10 league games is enough time for anybody to implement what they are trying to do and with regards to getting a fair crack of the whip, I don’t think I did”, he added.
