Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole feels that all the goals in the world from Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney this season will not make the pair legends for this campaign, with winning the Premier League the vital ingredient needed.

The Van Persie-Rooney partnership is currently being hailed from all corners and Rooney provided the assist for Van Persie to score against Arsenal at the weekend as Manchester United won 1-0.

Cole is impressed with the duo, but feels it might all be for naught if the Red Devils cannot keep hold of their crown.

"I am happy with them, they are both great footballers who are getting goals and playing well", he told the club's official site.

"If United win the title with Robin and Wayne both getting goals, then people will talk about them for years."

The victory over Arsenal moved Manchester United up to fifth in the Premier League standings with 20 points from eleven games.
