Centre-back Chris Smalling has explained that he is confident about being part of the England squad which will travel to Brazil next year for the World Cup.
The Manchester United player, who has seven caps for England, is presently in the Three Lions squad for their friendly matches at Wembley Stadium against Chile and Germany on 15th and 19th November respectively.
And the 23-year-old insisted that he is positive about boarding the plane to Brazil next summer as long as he steers clear of injuries and continues to put in impressive displays for the Red Devils.
Smalling further added that not only is he keen to play in the World Cup, but he is also determined to make his mark at the tournament in the South American nation.

“I am hopeful if I can stay injury free and keep playing, getting as many games as I can”, Smalling told his club’s official site.
“Hopefully Roy Hodgson will be watching and I can be on that plane, and not only go over there in the squad but also make an impact on the tournament.”
Smalling has thus far made 11 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United in the present campaign.
