Andriy Shevchenko has denied he is in line for a coaching role at AC Milan, but believes the Rossonerri are one of two ideal scenarios for his future.

Shevchenko was linked with coaching roles with both Milan and Chelsea after being seen in the stands at the San Siro last month sitting alongside Blues owner Roman Abramovich.

Shevchenko hung up his boots last year and was expected to go into politics, but the Ukrainian is now hoping to make his mark on the coaching scene.

However, he denied there was any truth to the speculation around a quick appointment, telling RAI: "It's a time of transition. I am studying and preparing for the future.

He ended his career at boyhood club Dynamo Kyiv with a final three-year spell after leaving Chelsea in 2009. The striker finished with 111 caps for Ukraine, alongside 48 goals.
