Sampdoria have confirmed former player Sinisa Mihajlovic as their new manager replacing the ousted Delio Rossi.
Mihajlovic had already revealed he had accepted Sampdoria's offer after expressing his disappointment at the hands of Serbia where was the head coach of the national team.
Sampdoria have yet to reveal details of Mihajlovic's contract, but the 44-year-old will take charge at the club where he played for four years between 1994 and 1998.
Mihajlovic had also been an assistant to Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan, with managerial spells at Fiorentina, Catania and Bologna to boot.

"UC Sampdoria wishes to communicate that the position of head coach of the first team has been entrusted to Mr. Sinisa Mihajlovic", a club statement read.
"The new coach will be presented at a press conference tomorrow after which he will conduct his first training session."
Mihajlovic had been Serbia coach since 2012, but failed to lead them to the World Cup with less than a year left on his contract.
"I decided to accept the offer of Sampdoria because I did not get the right guarantees from the Serbian Federation", he had said.
"I'm very sad. I'm leaving, but without permanently closing the door on a future return."
