Sinisa Mihajlovic's start to Sampdoria management has been hailed by his good friend Roberto Mancini, but with a warning of teething problems at the club.
Mancini was manager of Inter Milan with Mihajlovic as his assistant, continuing the relationship they had built up as team-mates at Sampdoria and Lazio.
Mihajlovic was yesterday confirmed as the new Sampdoria manager, though details on the length of his contract are yet to be released.
The former Serbia national coach left his job "disappointed", but the return to his old hunting ground is being praised from many quarters.

"Sinisa is the right choice", Galatasaray manager Mancini told Secolo XIX. "He loves Sampdoria.
"But you cannot have a wedding with dried figs. If the team have collected nine points in 12 games, it means there are problems.
"For this, Sinisa will initially have to tend to the business side of things. Only time will tell if Sampdoria are playing well."
Sampdoria are currently locked in the relegation battle in 18th place, with just two Serie A wins to their name so far.
