Carlo Ancelotti has always preferred club coaching to the national job, with a return to Italy with either AC Milan or Roma always a dream.
Milan are in a crisis of sorts and much has been made about manager Massimiliano Allegri's future, with former player and boss Ancelotti never out of the picture.
The Real Madrid chief spent eight years as manager of Milan and fans would never be averse to seeing him back in the hotseat.
And when asked if he saw himself returning, Ancelotti told Sky Italia: "Why not, I would be happy to do so. My last spell at Milan remains a beautiful memory."

Even Roma, who are living a dream season under Rudi Garcia, are not excluded from speculation, with Ancelotti's main regret being not coaching the "sample of agelessness" that is Francesco Totti.
He added: "Training the Giallorossi one day? They talk about it too much. But I'd like to."
