France defender Mamadou Sakho has insisted he does not regret his switch from Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool in the summer, claiming he took the decision to be in top notch condition for the World Cup next summer.
Sakho, a boyhood PSG fan who was developed in the club's youth ranks, called time on his association with the Parc des Princes outfit in the summer to move to England and sign for Liverpool.
The defender has continued to hog the headlines in France though and scored his first goals for Les Bleus in the country's World Cup playoff tie against Ukraine.
Indeed, Sakho scored twice as France overturned a 2-0 first leg deficit to win 3-0 in Paris and book a World Cup spot last week.
