Liverpool have confirmed that left-back Jose Enrique has had successful surgery on his right knee.
The Spaniard is now expected to only be able to resume full training in around ten weeks' time.
Enrique had been suffering from a knee injury for some time and Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed following the club's match against Fulham that he would require surgery.
The Spanish defender has not started for Liverpool since their 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at the start of October.
