Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta admits he did not expect his side to thrash Tottenham Hotspur 6-0, but explained "sometimes that's how it goes".
The Citizens were rampant on home turf and were 5-0 up by the 55th minute with goals from Jesus Navas (1st minute), Sandro (own goal, 34th minute), Sergio Aguero (41st and 50th minutes) and Alvaro Negredo (55th minute).
A sixth then came right at the death as Navas grabbed his second of the afternoon.
Spurs were simply blown away by Manchester City's football and manager Andre Villas-Boas appeared shell-shocked on the touchline.

"We have amazing strikers who can score goals from anywhere but we have to keep calm because it is very early days", he said via his club's official site.
"People ask how we can score so many at home and then fail to score against teams we are expected to beat – but you’’ll have to ask the strikers about that!
"We didn’t expect to win 6-0 against a very strong team like Spurs but sometimes that’s how it goes.
"We are playing very well but it’s important to play with the same attitude and style away from home, too."
