New Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis has declared himself up for the challenge of keeping the Eagles in the Premier League.

Pulis has been unveiled at a press conference at Selhurst Park and lands at a club sitting second bottom of the Premier League table.

The new Palace boss parted company with Stoke City at the end of last season and is now relishing the challenge in front of him.

"It's a club in the Premiership [sic]. A club with great history. It's going to be a tough job, I've got no illusions that it's going to be anything but a tough job", Pulis said.

"But spending time looking at the times over the last few years, it's been a remarkable turnaround. Look at how far they have come to get to the Premiership [sic], it's been remarkable."

Pulis also revealed he is already eyeing the January transfer window.

"I'm still very ambitious. I like climbing hills.

"This is a tough job, but one that I will relish.

"There will be an opportunity to wheel and deal in the window."

Pulis' first game in charge of Crystal Palace will come away against Norwich at the weekend.
