Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has demanded a reaction from his players in their next game following yesterday's 6-0 mauling against Manchester City, a match of which his charges should feel "ashamed".

Spurs were simply overrun at the Etihad Stadium as the Citizens hit six goals without reply, doubling the amount of goals Tottenham had conceded in the Premier League so far this season.

And Villas-Boas cannot disguise his disappointment.

"We have to be ashamed of ourselves, and react to a defeat like this", he said via the BBC.

The Portuguese has now shifted his focus to Thursday's Europa League match against Tromso.

And he wants a reaction against the Norwegian outfit.

"My responsibility is to lift the players, there is always another game coming.

"We have to give a response in the Europa League."
