Real Madrid are distributing 45,000 Cristiano Ronaldo masks to fans attending the Bernabeu for tonight's Champions League clash against Galatasaray.

The idea is to back Ronaldo in the contest for this year's FIFA Ballon d'Or, in which he is widely seen as being involved in a two-way shootout with Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery for.

 


Ronaldo will not be on the pitch at the Bernabeu though, as he is rested by coach Carlo Ancelotti due to an injury niggle; the Italian hopes to have Ronaldo back for the weekend La Liga match against Real Valladolid.

The Portugal forward has yet again been in superb form for Real Madrid this season.

Indeed, Ronaldo has scored 30 goals in 21 games in all competitions this term.

Tonight will be the first Champions League game he has missed for Real Madrid in the current campaign.
