Everton are aiming to sign players in the January transfer window, manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed.
The Toffees have been in impressive form under the Spaniard, who succeeded David Moyes in the summer, and are aiming to be involved in the top four Champions League conversation.
For that Martinez knows Everton must take another step forward in quality by emerging in better shape at the end of January than they were at the start of the month.
"We want to add if the right player and the right character becomes available – but it's not a real need", he said via his club's official site.

"What is important is that after the transfer window we are again stronger than when it opens and that will always be our focus.
"I am delighted with the players we have at the club. We have a couple of long-term injuries with Arouna Kone and Darron Gibson but overall I am very, very pleased."
Everton presently sit seventh in the Premier League table, but are just three points from second spot.
