Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Lukas Podolski will not return to first team action for at least another three weeks.

The Germany international recently made a training comeback with the Gunners, something that Wenger admitted he was delighted to see.

But Podolski, who picked up an injury in August and has been sidelined since, still has some way to go before Wenger will consider him for first team action.

The Arsenal manager explained via his club's official site: "It will be three weeks until we could see him in the team."

Wenger's timescale means that Podolski could return for Arsenal's high-profile match against Manchester City on 14th December, though a visit from Chelsea on 23rd December may be a more realistic game for the German to aim for.

Podolski has managed to make just two Premier League and two Champions League appearances so far this term.
