Javier Pastore is "happy" at Paris Saint-Germain, his agent has claimed, as transfer speculation continues to swirl around the Argentine playmaker.

Pastore has fallen out of favour at PSG this term and seen his performances when on the pitch criticised by a section of the club's fans. He has been defended by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who has called him "class", while Liverpool have been linked with bidding for the former Palermo man in January.

Other clubs mooted as interested in the 24-year-old include Roma, Fenerbahce and Chelsea. But Pastore's agent has played down talk that his client is unhappy.

Marcelo Simonian told Napoli Calcio Live: "On the contrary, the player is very happy in France, just as he was happy in Italy."

And Simonian feels that his client wants to remain at the Parc des Princes, where he has started six Ligue 1 games this term, while there has been no contact over a potential move.

"The intention of Paris Saint-Germain is to keep [him] and on the other hand Javier wants to continue his career at a club who strongly believed in him and that have always treated him well.

"So I have not had contact with anyone."

There has also been talk of a return to Italy for Pastore with Napoli. But again on that note, Simonian downplayed any possible switch.

"Pastore loves Italy, but now we must think only of the present, not the past or the future.

"I do not think that a transfer to Napoli is possible at this time."
