Manchester United manager David Moyes was in the crowd at the Vicente Calderon as Atletico Madrid took on FC Porto in the Champions League, with Koke the man the Scot is believed to have been checking up on.
The Red Devils have been linked with the talented young midfielder, with speculation over a January bid from the English champions for the Spaniard swirling.
Atletico Madrid are keen to keep Koke, who has rapidly sped up his development over the last 18 months and as a result has collected a whole host of suitors.
AC Milan and Barcelona are attentive to the Spaniard's talents, while Liverpool have also taken a keen interest in his progression under coach Diego Simeone.
Manchester United boss Moyes is currently running the rule over a number of potential additions ahead of a January transfer window which is expected to see the English champions working hard to strengthen their squad.
Moyes famously failed with bids for Thiago Alcantara, Cesc Fabregas, Daniele De Rossi, Ander Herrera and Sami Khedira in the summer window, managing to land only Marouane Fellaini from former club Everton.
Koke, who helped Spain's Under-21s to pick up the summer's European Championship in Israel, is believed to be rated at around the €20m mark by Atletico Madrid.
The 21-year-old played all 90 minutes in Atletico Madrid's 2-0 win over FC Porto.
