And with 11 Premier League fixtures left in Everton’s season, out of which six are home games, Martinez insisted that his side are aware of what is left to play for in the current campaign.

The Spaniard, who added that his players are desperate to feature in the business part of the season, further revealed that the Merseyside club are looking forward to their matches at Goodison Park.

“The players are well aware [of what’s left to play for]”, Martinez told his club’s official site.

“There's massive competition for places in the dressing room and we all know we've got six demanding games at Goodison.

“That's something we really enjoy, playing in front of our fans and making sure everyone is proud of what we do at Everton.

“We've got 33 points to fight for and it's an essential moment of the season.”

Everton will next play Cardiff City at Goodison Park on Saturday, before welcoming Swansea City to the ground a week later.
