Bayern Munich have extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to 23 points, a total which is only one less than that by which Celtic lead the Scottish Premiership.
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke recently bemoaned that the Bundesliga is operating in "Scottish conditions" in a reference to how Bayern Munich are dominating in a similar fashion to Celtic in Scotland.

And today the Bavarians have further underlined that, sweeping aside the challenge of fourth-placed Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena.
Goals from Mario Mandzukic (44th minute) and Bastian Schweinsteiger (52nd minute) were only answered by an injury time consolation from Stefan Kiessling for the visitors.

And combined with a 2-1 defeat for second-placed Borussia Dortmund at home against Borussia Monchengladbach, Bayern Munich boosted their lead to 23 points.
The Bavarians have won 23 of their 25 league games so far, drawing the other two.
Dortmund meanwhile have lost seven of their 25 matches.
