Olympiacos forward Joel Campbell has revealed that qualifying for the World Cup is a dream that came true for Costa Rica, but progressing through the group stage will be a huge challenge.

The 21-year-old has been on a high in the last week as he won his first major trophy with the Greek side, who beat Panthrakikos 2-0 to clinch their 41st title. He also scored against English giants Manchester United in their Champions League first leg win and is gearing up for their return leg at Old Trafford tonight.

"Obviously reaching the World Cup in Brazil is very important for everyone. To be honest it’s a dream.

"We’re delighted to have the opportunity to face such high quality opposition. What could be better than facing some of the best in the world in Brazil? I still believe we can get through the group stage.”

Costa Rica are drawn in a difficult group with Italy, England and Uruguay, but Campbell believes it to be the perfect opportunity for the Ticos to take their revenge against the Uruguayan side that denied them a spot in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa via the playoffs.

“I watched that match at home with my family and it was a huge disappointment. But that’s all history now. Things change quickly in football and now we have to seize this chance to take our revenge", he concluded.
