Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra has underlined the importance of his side scoring an early goal at Old Trafford in their crucial Champions League Round of 16 second leg game against Olympiacos tonight.

The Greek outfit are currently favourites to qualify for the quarter-finals of the continental tournament after winning the first leg 2-0, courtesy of goals from Alejandro Dominguez and Joel Campbell.

However Evra, who agrees with manager David Moyes regarding the importance of scoring an early goal, is confident about Manchester United overturning the two-goal deficit.

“Like the manager [Moyes] says, it's really important we score early on Wednesday”, the defender told his club’s official site.

“When you come to Old Trafford and concede an early goal, it's difficult. I'm confident. I'm not selling a dream and saying we will definitely qualify.

“There are too many words right now. We just have to show on the pitch. That is most important.”

Evra, who is touted to leave Manchester United in the summer, remained tight-lipped about his future at the club as he was keen to focus on matters at hand.

“It's not a good day to talk about my future”, he added.

“The most important thing is Manchester United's future, not mine. I will give everything when I pull on the shirt.

“I want to show to my staff and team-mates that they can count on me. I want to be a good player and make sure Manchester United qualify. That's my only concern.”

Evra joined Manchester United from Monaco in 2006 and has thus far made 372 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring nine times.
