Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is still beaming at his side's comprehensive 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, explaining that on the day the ball belonged to the Reds, as did the game.

Two penalties from Steven Gerrard along with a late strike from Luis Suarez secured victory for Liverpool and left Manchester United reeling.

And Rodgers feels that a number of young players performed well on the day, while praising how his side took control of the game in tough circumstances in front of a full house at Old Trafford.

"Not too many arenas are bigger in the world than Old Trafford, 75,000-odd supporters", Rodgers told a press conference.

"Last weekend in that game it was Manchester United's ground, mostly their supporters, but it was our ball, our game and we controlled the game with young players getting good experience."

And the result, which put Liverpool second in the Premier League standings, is one Rodgers is happy has allowed the club's fans to dream, even if he insists the team are keeping their feet on the ground.

"It's great for the supporters to dream and at this moment I think they have a lot of pride in what they are seeing.

"[But] we haven't done anything yet. We've had a very good season and our level of play is improving all the time, but we haven't done anything yet."
