Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has pointed out Arsenal's close to nine-year trophy drought under Arsene Wenger, with the Frenchman on the verge of taking charge of his 1,000th match as Gunners boss.

Mourinho's Chelsea will provide the opposition for Arsenal tomorrow, with Wenger celebrating clocking up a milestone of 1,000 games.

Mourinho has already blasted Wenger earlier this season, dubbing the Frenchman a "specialist in failure" for his long silverware drought.

And now the Portuguese has suggested Arsenal have shown Wenger real support given his consistent failure to win a trophy.

"I admire him and I admire Arsenal, because it's not possible to have 1,000 matches unless the club is also a fantastic club in the way they support the manager, especially in the bad moments and especially when the bad moments were quite a lot", Mourinho was quoted as saying by ITV.

Chelsea head into the contest sitting on top of the Premier League, four points ahead of Wenger's Arsenal, who are third.
