Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths is eager for his team to beat St. Mirren in their league game on Saturday as it will ensure the Hoops are a little closer to winning the Scottish Premiership title.
Neil Lennon’s men are leading the league table and are 24 points ahead of second placed Aberdeen. They will take on the Saints, who come into the game on the back of a 3-2 defeat against Dundee United last weekend, and Griffiths is sure that the Buddies will be looking for some vengeance.

“We have to start on the front foot better than we did away to Kilmarnock on Friday night, and hopefully we will be okay.
“St Mirren were unlucky not to take something from Tannadice last weekend as they started really well and after being 2-0 up they will feel that they should have at least got a point out of that.
“They will come to Celtic Park and make it difficult for us but it’s all about what we do. They will like to play it through the back as we do but we are the home team and we need to make that count and start better than we did last week.
“We want to wrap the league up as quickly as possible and we need to focus on getting three points”, the 23-year-old concluded.
Celtic have thrashed their opponents in their last two league games, beating Inverness 5-0 on 1st March and Kilmarnock 3-0 last weekend, and the Celts will be looking to end the season on a high.
