Neil Warnock has rejected an offer to manage Championship club Nottingham Forest saying that the conditions at the City Ground were not suited to his managerial style.

The Reds were in talks with the former Leeds United and Queen Park Rangers’ boss after they sacked manager Billy Davies following the club’s disappointing performances, but Warnock feared that there would be excessive interference from the club's owners and hence turned it down.

"I felt that I have to do the job the way I see it being done”, the 65-year-old told the BBC.

"And I just couldn't totally see being able to do that, so it was difficult.

"The chairman is a lovely man. He loves the club. But I found it very difficult that there was nobody English around the club to speak to that had football experience. I felt it is area they need to look at”, he added.

Nottingham Forest looked on course for automatic promotion and also a spot in the playoffs, but the recent poor run of form also saw the club knocked out of the FA Cup after losing to League One side Sheffield United.

Currently seventh in the table, they also lost their last game 5-0 against Derby County and will be looking to put things right when they face Charlton Athletic today.
