Guus Hiddink has come to an agreement with the KNVB (the Dutch FA) to take over as the head coach of Holland from Louis van Gaal after the 2014 World Cup. Danny Blind and Ruud van Nistelrooy will also join Hiddink as his assistants, with whom verbal agreements have been confirmed.

Hiddink has signed a two-year contract with the KNVB which runs out at the end of the European Championship in 2016.

Hiddink also wanted former Dutch defender Jaap Stam in his team, but Stam declined due to his commitments with Ajax, while AC Milan have also shown interest in acquiring his services.

According to Voetbal International, Hiddink has signed a contract that ends after the European Championship in 2016 as he intends to take the technical director's role at the KNVB, with Blind taking over as head coach.

Hiddink and the KNVB are trying to retain the services of the current goalkeeping coach, Frans Hoek.
