Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has urged his side to defeat Manchester United today in view of striding towards the Premier League title this season.

The Citizens thrashed Fulham 5-0 at the weekend and are currently third in the league standings with 63 points from 28 games.

And Toure, who acknowledged that the title race is very tight this term, admitted that his side cannot afford to commit any mistakes.

Hence the Ivory Coast international wants Manchester City to come out with the full three points against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Toure further called on his side not to take the Red Devils lightly, despite David Moyes’ men being in seventh spot with 51 points from 30 games.

“We know difficult it is to win the Premier League and this season, it’s maybe harder than ever before”, the midfielder told his club’s official site.

“We have to beat United and just keep going – we showed against Fulham that we are focused and ready for the challenge ahead and know our focus is on the derby.

“Football is very strange and United, like any club, can play really well in one game and not so good the next so we can’t worry too much about their current position or form.

“We have to play our game and perform the best we can and try and take three points from the game. We want to win this title and we know we don’t have any room for any mistakes.”

Manchester City are currently six points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, but have played three games less than the Blues.
