Arsenal are set to be without the services of defender Laurent Koscielny for matches against Manchester City and Everton.

According to French outlet Maxifoot, the France international defender will miss the next two weeks due to a torn calf, picked up during Arsenal's 6-0 defeat to Chelsea last weekend.

The news is a blow to Arsenal, who face two matches which could go some way towards deciding if they finish in the Premier League's top four this season.

The Gunners have dropped out of the title race and now sit fourth, just six points above Everton, who have a game in hand and also host Arsene Wenger's men at Goodison Park on 6th April.

Koscielny is likely to be replaced by Belgian Thomas Vermaelen in the heart of the defence, the former Ajax man having played last night in a 2-2 draw with Swansea.

Arsenal are next in action this coming Saturday when they welcome second-placed Manchester City to the Emirates Stadium.

While Arsenal were drawing with Swansea last night the Citizens beat Manchester United 3-0.
