Mandzukic’s starting spot in the Bayern Munich team is under threat from Robert Lewandowski, who will join the club next season on a free transfer. With coach Pep Guardiola known for employing only one striker in his game plan, Mandzukic will be forced to think about his future away from Bayern Munich.

Club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is confident that the Bavarians can keep hold of the Croatian international however.

"Mario Mandzukic is under contract with our club", he said.

It was recently claimed that Mandzukic’s agent Ivan Cvjetkovic was in London to meet the representatives of Arsenal and Chelsea regarding the transfer of his client though, signalling a potential exit.

Mandzukic joined Bayern Munich from fellow German side Wolfsburg in the summer of 2012. He has already scored 24 goals in 40 appearances for the German club this season.
