The Football Association have requested further video evidence to establish whether Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini spat on Manchester City’s Pablo Zabaleta during the course of the game last Tuesday, according to the BBC.
During the course of a heated Manchester derby, where the Red Devils suffered a 3-0 defeat, the Belgian midfielder had an altercation with the Argentina defender where he elbowed Zabaleta. He was booked by the referee for that offence.

Later, in footage that surfaced on the internet, Fellaini appeared to spit on Zabaleta.
The FA have claimed that on the basis of that evidence they cannot charge the Manchester United midfielder with improper conduct.

However, if any evidence is brought forward to them that incriminates the Belgian midfielder beyond any reasonable doubt, the FA will take a decision whether to go ahead and press disciplinary charges against Fellaini.
Hull City striker George Boyd was banned for three games after he was found guilty of spitting on Manchester City goalkeeper Joe hart.
Fellaini is expected to feature in Manchester United’s starting eleven when they take on Aston Villa at Old Trafford this Saturday.
