Paulinho was signed by former Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas, but has struggled to cement a spot in the starting eleven under the Portuguese's successor Tim Sherwood.

"I always want to play", he explained to Globo Esporte.

"I understand that the coach rotates a lot, but I do not feel good or comfortable. I want to be selected. I want to play."

The midfielder also dismissed concerns that the English language may be a problem when it comes to communicating with his team-mates, even though he did admit the learning process is tough.

"The language is the hardest because I am a bit lazy when it comes to studying it", Paulinho admitted.

"I learn the language bit by bit, but I don't stop there.

"Football is a lot easier as a language and it's not a problem."
