Kevin Nolan has saluted West Ham's 2-1 win at Sunderland this evening, explaining the Hammers' game plan "worked a treat".
Andy Carroll put West Ham 1-0 up in just the ninth minute of the match before Mohamed Diame added a second in the 50th minute, Carroll again involved, this time laying the ball on for the midfielder.

Sunderland were briefly revitalised by winger Adam Johnson, who his the back of the net in the 65th minute after being brought on as a second-half substitute. But no further goals arrived for the Black Cats, giving West Ham the three points.
"We knew obviously it was going to be tough", Nolan told Sky Sports.

"I thought we dealt with them well. I thought we were quite comfortable throughout the game.
"You get no easy games, especially when they are scrapping for their lives.
"It was about us coming here with a game plan. It worked a treat."
The victory moves West Ham on to 37 points from 32 games, sitting in eleventh, while Sunderland are still 19th with 25 points, now from 30 games.
