Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has saluted his side for their 1-1 Champions League draw against Bayern Munich this evening, feeling the German champions were always more likely to enjoy the lion's share of the possession.
Bayern Munich dominated possession in the first half, looking likely to crack Manchester United's defence open at any time. But the Red Devils held firm and went in at half-time at 0-0.

Manchester United boss David Moyes injected fresh legs for the second half, bringing off veteran Ryan Giggs for Shinji Kagawa.
And his side took the lead in the 58th minute when Vidic powered home a header, to Bayern Munich's astonishment.

However, just eight minutes later Bastian Schweinsteiger cracked home a well hit half-volley, levelling the game; he was later shown a red card for a challenge on Wayne Rooney.
For Vidic, the game unfolded as he believed it would and the Serbian felt if Manchester United did make a mistake they would be punished.
"It was a tough game. We had a good result at 1-0 and we just felt we were having good positions and we were solid", he told ITV.
"But one mistake and they punished it and they showed what a good team they are.
"They had good possession tonight and we accepted that most of the game would be in our half and we had to counter attack."
