Patrice Evra's agent has conceded his client could well decide to head to Italy's Serie A if he leaves the Premier League.

Evra's contract at Manchester United expires this summer and it is not yet clear he will agree to activate an option to extend it by a further 12 months.

The France international has long been of interest to Italian sides and his representative Federico Pastorello admits such a switch may be on the agenda.

"At the moment it's too early to talk about where he'll be next season", Pastorello was quoted as saying by Sport Mediaset.

"He is very close to United, but lately things have changed a bit.

"Could he go to Italy? He considers Serie A to be an important league so if he was to leave England it could be a possibility."

Evra most recently sat out Manchester United's 1-1 Champions League draw against Bayern Munich through suspension. He is expected to be back in the starting line-up for the quarter-final second leg however.
