Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has provided an update on his squad's fitness ahead of Sunday's vital Premier League clash away at Everton.

Roberto Martinez's Toffees sit just four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, but possess a game in hand. Should they beat the Gunners at Goodison Park at the weekend and win their game in hand, they would pull above Wenger's side.

However, Arsenal are set to be boosted by the return of Aaron Ramsey, who was in prolific goalscoring form earlier this season.

Wenger told a press conference via his club's feed: "He drives the team forward and he is a box to box player.

"It's good to have him back.

"Ramsey has worked very hard in training… what he lacks is competition."

Arsenal though may have to make do without full-back Kieran Gibbs, Wenger revealing he is suffering from a knee niggle, while Serge Gnabry also has an injury.

"We have a doubt about Kieran Gibbs with an ankle problem and Gnabry has a knee problem", the Frenchman said.
