Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger sees the game against Everton as a chance to create distance between them and the Toffees in the Premier League points table.

Arsenal currently lie fourth in the league table on 64 points, followed by Everton on 60 points. Both are fighting for the last Champions League spot.

The Frenchman believes that three points against the Toffees will ease the pressure on his team and make Everton’s quest for a Champions League spot tougher.

“It's an opportunity to go forward and as well an opportunity to make a distance with Everton", the former Monaco boss said in a press conference, via his club's site.

The 64-year-old credits Everton for their style of football this season and believes that Roberto Martinez’s side are showing the traits of a very dogged side.

"Everton are a good side, that's why they are where they are.”

“Everton have won against Swansea in the last minute and they have a never-give-up attitude, which gives them credit.”

Wenger’s Arsenal take on Everton in the Premier League at Goodison Park on Sunday.
