Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has reaffirmed the club's commitment to young Spanish starlet Luis Alberto, stating his personal belief that the 21-year-old will be a long-term asset for the Reds.
Alberto was Rodgers' first signing last summer, the Liverpool manager swooping on Spanish side Sevilla to complete a deal for the winger-cum-forward, and a potential loan move could be on the horizon.

Alberto has featured only rarely for Liverpool this term and questions have been raised about his progress.
But Rodgers is pleased with the Spaniard and has explained he is a long-term project.

"It's probably been a difficult season for Luis because he hasn't had many opportunities to make an impact. But he needs to keep working", he told his club's site.
"He's still a very young player and he does have quality. It shows you the level of where we are at. It was a signing for the long term – that was the idea."
However, Rodgers has hinted at a potential loan move for Alberto for next season, explaining he will "review" the Spaniard's development.
"He's a young player who has come in and sampled life at a big club and made a contribution", the Liverpool boss explained.
"He will stay with the group for the rest of the season and then we will review his development come the summer."
