Manchester United boss David Moyes believes that midfielder Marouane Fellaini has finally started to live up to his heavy price tag after a disappointing start to his career at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils spent £27.5m on the Belgian last summer, after missing out on a number of heavyweight transfer targets, including Cesc Fabregas and Thiago Alcantara.

However, like his former Everton boss, the transition into the famous red and white jersey hasn't gone so smoothly for the 26-year-old.

Some much needed support from the man in charge at Old Trafford will therefore help to boost the player's confidence – and Moyes is pleased with Fellaini's progress.

"It's not an easy move coming to Manchester United, as I can tell you", Moyes was quoted as saying by ITV.

"For Marouane, I think it's proved equally as difficult, but I have to say I think he has done a lot of good things and he has improved.

"I actually thought Marouane got better as the game went on [against Bayern Munich on Tuesday].

"We needed him and I thought he played very well.

"We bought Marouane Fellaini not to play every single game in the Premier League. We have bought him for several games. He did a great job at West Ham, against Aston Villa and against Bayern", the Scot added.

The former Everton player has featured in 17 matches in the league for the team from Manchester, but has failed to score even a single goal or provide one assist for his team-mates.
