Jese Rodriguez has suffered an early setback in his bid to return from a serious knee injury.
The winger, who had been in superb form for Real Madrid and was being tipped as an outside bet for inclusion in Vicente del Bosque's Spain squad to head to the World Cup, damaged his cruciate knee ligament last month.

His season was quickly declared over and Jese was sent to Germany for an operation.
However, he is now heading back to Germany to see the surgeon again after suffering inflammation in his knee, combined with a fever.

Jese managed to make 18 appearances in La Liga for Los Blancos this season, scoring five goals and providing four assists for his team-mates.
His estimated return date from injury is September, which would see him miss Real Madrid's pre-season.
