Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis feels that Liverpool have spent money to be where they are in the Premier League, a fact the former Stoke City boss believes is all too easily forgotten.

Pulis, who was sacked as Stoke manager last summer, has been widely praised for his work at Crystal Palace, steering the Eagles from the Premier League's relegation zone to the comfort of mid-table.

His side host a title-chasing Liverpool side tomorrow and while Pulis acknowledges Brendan Rodgers has done a good job at Anfield, he believes serious money has been spent by the Reds.

"There's been a lot investment in Liverpool, I think people forget that", Pulis told a press conference.

"Kenny Dalglish spent good money bringing in the likes of [Luis] Suarez and Jordan Henderson who have obviously really blossomed."

Liverpool were toppled from the top of the Premier League yesterday as Manchester City beat Everton to pull ahead on goal difference.

The Reds can return to the summit though with either a draw or a win at Selhurst Park.
