Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reiterated his intention to sign a new contract at the club and insisted the outcome of the FA Cup final will not affect his future.

Wenger has led the Gunners to fourth spot in the Premier League this season, securing a Champions League place. However, with the FA Cup final against Hull City scheduled later this month, he has an opportunity to end the club's near-nine-year trophy drought.

The Frenchman's contract expires in the summer, with it having been suggested if Arsenal lose to Hull, Wenger may walk.

Not so though says Wenger.

"Yes. I don't know [when I will sign a new deal]. I told you many times that my word is my word. I am from a period where you did not need a pen to commit", Wenger told his club's site.

"Look at me! You will see me again.

"It is not linked [to the FA Cup final] at all. It was important to be in the Champions League, that is for sure. I have told you many times it is not linked the fact I feel I am useful."
