Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud is pleased with his performance this season and is optimistic about the Gunners chances in the next campaign.

Giroud joined Arsenal in 2012 from Montpellier for a transfer fee of £9.6m and signed a five-year contract with the club.

The 27-year-old scored an impressive 17 goals in his first campaign at Arsenal, but believes he has improved more as a player this season.

“I think I have I improved compared to the first season. I know well my team-mates and we have a really good understanding on the pitch”, the Frenchman told his club’s official site.


The former Montpellier hitman believes that he is more at home with Arsenal’s style of football and feels that the Gunners are due some success in the immediate future.

“I love the Arsenal way to play so hopefully we have some nice days in front of us.”

Giroud has made 49 appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring 22 goals and providing nine assists.
