Chelsea forward Andre Schurrle believes that his team will end the season in third place, after losing vital points at home to "teams like Sunderland and Norwich."

The Pensioners were held to a goalless draw by strugglers Norwich on Sunday, just two weeks after losing to Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

The loss means that Jose Mourinho's side have fallen behind in the title race and are currently placed third with 79 points with one match to play.

The 23-year-old, who has scored seven goals in 29 league games this season, feels that Chelsea are now almost certain to finish third.

"We're disappointed", the German international told his club's official site.

Referring to the match against the Canaries, Schurrle said: "It was our last match at home and, with a win, we still had hopes for the title.

"Now, we are third and we'll probably stay there.

"We played very well against the big teams – Liverpool, Man City, Man United and Arsenal – but at home you have to win against teams like Sunderland and Norwich.

"We didn't do that and that's why we won't win the league this year", the former Bayer Leverkusen player added.
