Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker feels that Arsenal should not drop their intensity while they approach the FA Cup final against Hull City.

Arsenal remain in fourth position in the Premier League on 76 points, and are guaranteed Champions League qualification for next season.

"I think everyone is really up for the cup final and everyone really wants to win it", Mertesacker told the club’s official site.

"That is the target and we've got one game to go and we want to take it very seriously."

Arsenal take on Norwich City on the final day of the season on Sunday at Carrow Road with virtually nothing to play for except increasing their points tally, but the German feels that the Gunners must not let their guard down before the cup final on the following weekend.

"When you switch off, it's hard to switch on again so we want to keep the focus and intensity high in training. But as you know everyone is looking forward to the last game and even more to the FA Cup final."

Arsenal will take on Hull City in the FA Cup final on 17th May at Wembley Stadium.

The last time Arsenal were in the FA Cup final, they beat Manchester United on penalties to lift the trophy in 2005, their last piece of silverware.

If Arsenal manage to lift the trophy on 17th May, then they will equal Manchester United’s record of eleven FA Cup triumphs.
